The Agency for Minority Rights and Development (AMARD) is an independent, non-political, non-profit humanitarian and development organization dedicated to improving the lives of minority, marginalized, and vulnerable groups across the Horn of Africa and beyond.

Founded in 2012 in Baidoa, Somalia, by leaders from minority communities, AMARD has since grown into a vibrant rights-based development organization with operations in Somalia and Kenya, and a growing footprint across the region.
We are committed to promoting equality, dignity, and inclusion by ensuring that communities often left behind can access essential services, exercise their rights, and build resilient futures.

Our Vision

AMARD envisions a society where the rights of minorities, marginalized, and vulnerable populations are recognized, respected, and actively championed — fostering inclusive, equitable, and resilient communities across Africa and beyond.

Our Mission

AMARD is an independent organization dedicated to improve the lives and welfare of the minority groups, not exclusively living in Somalia, but the entire Horn of Africa irrespective of race, ethnicity, religion, political ideology and or age groups.
